Oranges and Sand

266 miles from Augusta, GA into Daytona Beach, FL.
I would have to say that as short as this drive as it was supposed to be.
Mix in a little bit of sleep deprivation and garnish with a little bit of fatigue – we found ourselves sleeping in the car at the nearby rest stop. At this point – we were too tired to care about becoming mug victims.

The next morning (today) we found ourselves still at the rest stop and found our way into a local Flying J. Bought shower time (yes, for $10 you can pretend to be a trucker). Then 40 minutes later the reward.

A beach sported by the Atlantic is nothing short of spectacular.
So spectacular in fact that the local bartender at the beach has this offer:
1 pint of beer + a shot for $6.95. (like that makes any sense right?)
Guess what happened to the Disney World plan?
DELAYED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE (more like tomorrow morning)

I was able to get a few pictures of the beach front around 11:00AM this morning.
Soothing sky blue waves and packed sand. Yes you heard me right packed sand. So packed people ride their road bikes on it, nothing I’ve seen back home in sunny California. I’m on beer 1, shot 1, and margarita 1. It’s 12:00PM now – let’s see how the day goes.
