Ohatsu Tenjin Shrine (Osaka)
The Ohatsu Tenjin Shrine or more traditionally known as the Tsuyu Tenjinsha is located in the heart of Osaka. Built in the 11th century as a guardian for the village of Sonezaki. It represents the main gateway into Osaka until this very day through a railway station built as far back as the 19th century. The railway station is now known as the JR Osaka Station. We happen to be wherever the JR runs since we have an unlimited 7 day pass
We took the time today to see and absorb some of Japan’s history and culture with some pictures. A little break from the partying a bit. If you ever get a chance to visit the shrine on your own, you will see that its dwarfed by the surrounding business skyscrapers and towers. It goes to show how much influence has gone into Japan’s society since the 11th century. I mean somethings going to change right?
