Let’s Play Pretend

Remember when playing pretend was the way to go because you couldn’t afford it or was a little too bizarre to get? Sure hope so – because we do. This collaboration was set at the Expressions College in Emeryville, Sound Studio. The primary theme behind the shoot was self emotion and the inner rock star / singer. We interviewed our models and dressed them according to their personality. With all that said and done, everything was setup and the last thing we needed… inspiration. Finding ways to express yourself isn’t always easy. So, how would you facilitate self expression and emotion? Booze. The cast was supplied with Stella Artios, Mickeys, Corona, King Cobra, and SoBE. We just made it available :) Results…color and lots of it, under the influence? Who knows!! Ok, incorporating alcohol isn’t probably something you should do. I made the call because I believed (controlled consumption, i.e. beer only) would positively contribute to the shoot. Embracing the fact that I put the shoot at (alcoholic) risk is absolutely thrilling. In the end, definitely refreshing! I’ve only posted some behind the scene photos, the final ones will be out in a few weeks! Pictures courtesy of Valentine Lan.

Update: Added some finished photographs for your viewing pleasure.

Much love to the cast of this collaboration set, “Play Pretend”
