Ok, I know I’ve disappeared off the face of photography for a little while. A bit of a career and life changes (that’s about as good as the excuse gets..). Fortunately for me I have a great group of supporters that keep encouraging me to get back into this. Just finding the time I guess was a bit hard. Thought about it, no one really has time – just what you’re willing to sacrifice for what’s important to you.
This shoot, called “Framed” was a quick model test that was done with a close friend (sister pretty much), Megan along side Iris Pham one of my most favorite MUAs. In this shoot, we really wanted to focus on beauty and accentuating her ink for her mother. In this shoot, I wanted to frame her upper body and composing with a ruby red backdrop to bring out her eyes. For me, the eyes tell the whole story – without it, I don’t buy the image.
I used a single AB800 strobe + Beauty Dish with a silver reflector on the bottom to highlight the lower shadows it created to minimize the shadow and bring out the shape of her face.
